Overhead Door™ Wall Mount Opener Product Update: What to Know About the RF Programming Issue

Posted by Overhead Door Parts Online on 13th Aug 2026

Overhead Door™ has released an updated Product Information Bulletin regarding a potential software-related issue affecting a limited number of residential garage door openers. In some affected openers, previously programmed RF devices—including remotes and keypads—may lose their pairing with the opener.

The latest update specifically addresses Infinity® 2000 Wall Mount Openers, as well as Light Duty Jackshaft Openers used in commercial sectional applications. Here's what owners should know about identifying affected openers and the available replacement boards.

Which Infinity® 2000 Wall Mount Openers May Be Affected?

The issue does not affect every Infinity® 2000 opener.

According to Overhead Door™, the potential issue has been identified in Infinity® 2000 Wall Mount Openers with:

  • An opener serial number prefix of 25262 or later
  • Board software revision v1.078

The software revision is particularly important: Overhead Door™ specifies that v1.078 is the affected revision.

What Happens When an Opener Is Affected?

An affected opener may lose its pairing with existing wireless devices. For a homeowner, this can mean a remote control or wireless keypad that was previously working suddenly needs to be programmed to the opener again.

Reprogramming the device is an immediate fix. However, Overhead Door™ notes that reprogramming may not provide a long-term solution if the programming loss occurs repeatedly.

Replacement Control Board for Wall Mount Openers

For residential Wall Mount Openers experiencing repeated programming loss, the service board listed by Overhead Door™ is:

Overhead Door™ 41181R.S Control Board

Part Number: 41181R.S

The 41181R.S is the service board specified for residential Wall Mount Openers and applies to units:

  • With or without Wi-Fi
  • With or without battery backup (BBU)

For Light Duty Jackshaft Openers used in commercial sectional applications, the corresponding service board is 41181S.S.

How Can I Tell If an Opener Has Updated Software?

Updated Wall Mount and Light Duty Jackshaft Openers can be identified by the following:

  • Opener serial number prefix 26197 or later
  • Board software revision v1.001.087 or later

These identifiers can help distinguish updated equipment from units containing the affected software revision.

What Does the Yellow Dot on the Replacement Board Box Mean?

Some replacement service-board cartons may have a yellow dot on the outside of the box.

As shown in the examples on page 2 of Overhead Door™ Product Information Bulletin 72426, the yellow dot indicates that a service board was reprogrammed with the updated software.

However, the absence of a yellow dot does not necessarily mean that a board has outdated software. Regular production service boards manufactured after July 16 are already up to date and therefore did not need to be reprogrammed. Those boards will not have the yellow-dot marking.

What Should I Do If My Remote or Keypad Keeps Losing Its Programming?

If you own an Infinity® 2000 Wall Mount Opener and have experienced repeated loss of remote or keypad programming, start by checking your opener's serial number and control board software revision.

If your opener has a serial prefix of 25262 or later and board software revision v1.078, it falls within the specific range identified in Overhead Door™'s bulletin.

Reprogramming your remote or keypad can restore the connection, but repeated programming loss may indicate that the control board needs to be replaced.

Are the Other Residential Opener Updates Complete?

Yes. The July 24 bulletin also provides an update on previously identified trolley opener software issues.

For 24V Trolley Openers, updated products have a serial number prefix of 26068 or later and board software revision v2.1.0 or later.

For 140V Trolley Openers, updated products have a serial number prefix of 26107 or later. The main board remains at software revision v4.1.4, while the new secondary board revision is v4.1.16.

Overhead Door™ lists all of these updates as complete.
