OUTSIDE LOCK (HURD LOCK)

This product is great and lead to a successful replacement of one very near the ocean. It would be nice to be able to get these with cylinders that will accommodate Schlage and Kwikset key ways so the garage could be integrated with the home keys. I have seen Kwikset ones, but not Schlage.

Replaced the original lock after 29 years of excellent service. Can’t go wrong with Overhead products. Quality, and reliability. Worth every cent!

This was a perfect replacement for my original lock, and I thought I installed it correctly. Unfortunately, the lock won't turn completely, and now I have to call someone out to help, which I was trying to avoid. Even though it is seemed fairly straightforward, installation instructions and an online instructional video would have been helpful. I'm sure this is a case of user error or some other problem inside my garage door.

Lock wasn't exact replacement for original. Needed to file a notch in hole in door to get it to fit. Otherwise no problems installing.

With some modification I was able to acceptably match new outside lock to the inside spring loaded slide mechanism. Could not exchange locks due to size incompatibility and new design not using screws like older unit. Clip retainers not as user friendly as screws and nuts. Would suggest considering changing both outer and inner lock mechanisms.

Exactly the same part. The tool shed associated with the house I own has an Overhead door. The key had been broken-off in the lock by the previous owner. This was a perfect replacement fit. If just the lock were available, I would have bought just that.
