We lost our last remote control for a door that is 35 years old. With the help of staff this remote was said to work with our motor. The replacement transmitter works fine. The "universal" transmitter I got at a "big box" store had Overhead Door on the box, but it did not work, so I had to go to the Overhead Door company and correspond with them about my (old) model opener and the correct replacement transmitter. The one they recommended turned out to be correct and works. One warning: the directions packed with the new transmitter were useful. The pictures and diagrams were of transmitters other than the one I had, and the directions were unclear and useless. Example: the directions referred to the LEARN button on the transmitter, and the transmitter didn't have a button labeled LEARN. Two e-mails had to be exchanged Overhead Door to get correct directions, but once the new transmitter was programmed following those directions, it worked and works fine. (I suspect the "doesn't work" reviewer didn't get the correct programming directions from the company.)

Garage door opener arrived on time. Easy to reprogram, and works flawlessly.

As others have said, the unit is not cheap. However, it absolutely did the trick. Just set the dip-switches to match your receiver board; follow the 'learn' instructions included with the unit; and you have a functional remote. In my case, the door opener is so old that there is no record of its model number or anything anywhere on the internet. Yet - that motor still pulls like a champ.

I am very happy to have this unit working again. The 'experts' told me I needed an entire new unit...so $50 does not seem so bad. ;-)
