Should have just started here
I had to replace an old remote for my very old garage door opener. Tried to save a couple bucks by trying to use the generic, "we work for anything" openers you see at Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, etc. not 1 of the worked. The factory replacement was a little more expensive, but super easy to program and works like a champ. Delivery was quick too.

great replacement opener
I lost the original opener and discovered that our older door unit operates on a different frequency than modern units I found the overhead door unit and ordered on a Sunday . It arrived on Wednesday and works perfectly The style and design is better than the original so I gave it to my wife and I took the old one !

No help
Follow up to my post on the 6th. I also spoke to a call center person who was nice but didn't have a clue. Then i spoke to an "impatient" rep, too. I have used the exact same code as the older remote and yet no luck getting this to work. I followed the instructions precisely. Guess i will be returning it.

Works perfectly
My garage door opener (Eagle 1000) has to be at least 20 years old, replacement remote works perfectly, was easy to program. Must note, reps I spoke to on phone seemed "impatient".

Instructions?

It works!
Replacement remote control for older model garage door opener. I was fortunate that we still have an existing remote that I could use to find the 9 digit operating code and manually adjust the setting. If I didn't access to the code, I don't think I could have ever figured it out. Keep that in mind if you have a similar older model opener. With the code this remote works perfectly.

Thanks for still supporting older tech!
I am a renter, and originally was issued an opener at first, but a series off unfortunate events led to the loss of the oem opener. I tried several universal remotes from a local supply store. It took me a while to realize 380 mHz was not supported by any of the modern universal remotes (at least in my scenario, this was the case).
After a length of about 6 months, physically walking in the front door, through the house, and into the garage to open it. I abandoned the search and I believe I never called Overhead Door for a replacement. Rather I only tried several brands of "universal remotes" with no results other than failures.
For such dated equipment, I was glad to still have recourse in regaining remote control of the garage door. That being said, the price of this remote want too far from the price of a new (modern) opener and all that entails. As renters, we could not justify that "improvement" with no tangible return on investment; just as if a homeowner was to repair some component of their home, but in such a way as to retrospectively increase the value of their home. Their investment.
A garage door remote. The A #1 improvement you can to do to your home! -
Instructons need Improvement
Pretty simple except the basic instructions. Need to clarify the step of pressing the button then pressing teach. Need to press the #2 (CONTINUE to press and press the teach button). Caution door operates when the code is saved.

Easy to program...works great
Works just as I expected. Easy directions to follow to make the remote learn your motor.

Transmitter opens old doors!
I was hesitant that this transmitter would work with an old garage door opener but after setting the DIP switches on it, it worked just fine.
Super!
