Transformer
The transformer still buzzed after replacing the 2 year old one. I researched online to put rubber between the screws and transformer. That eased the buzzing noise. You should include rubber washers to install on the original unit.

Replacement transformer
Instructions made it seem more complex than it was to install. Super easy. Would have given 5 stars but one side of the piece that attaches to the actual motor was bent a full 90 degrees. Fortunately I had a tool large enough to bend it back but could not get it flush.

Transformers
One of the easiest projects I've undertaken in a while. The transformers were shipped quickly and got here in no time. They were basically plug and play. I was extremely pleased with the ease of installation. Have already recommended to my children

Fixed buzzing on Legacy 850
Legacy 850 Opener was buzzing, so found an article that suggested replacing transformer. Part was delivered with good instructions, however, I found that it wasn’t necessary to remove the circuit board to gain access to the original transformer. After replacing Transformer, buzzing stopped. Was very pleased I didn’t have to pay for a technician to come out and make a simple replacement. Thanks!

Did the trick!
Our overhead door unit was making a buzzing sound. I googled up the problem and overhead door website said it was likely a transformer so I took a chance and ordered it. It came fast, my hubby installed it very easily and the buzzing sound is gone! The easiest fix ever! Thanks!

Solved my issue easily
I saw a headline on the web site saying "is your garage door opener humming?". Well it was. The advice was to change the transformer. I ordered the appropriate unit and was pleased to find very explicit and informative directions. The installation took less than 15 minutes and my opener no longer hums. BTW, the old transformer was VERY hot when took it out. I'm pretty sure this easy repair saved a costly event later.
